GAST Office Bangkok

As a longtime affiliate and board member of the AK Nord Süd work group of RWTH Aachen University, Prof. Dr. R. H. Jansen, Speaker of GAST since the initiation of this network in 2009 and former German Director of TGGS  (Oct 2004 – March 2011), has now teamed-up with AIT (Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok) and with the Chulalongkorn Intellectual Property Institute (Chula IPI), to set up a GAST coordination office in Bangkok. A GAST Task Force including high-level representatives of AIT and Chula IPI has been working since early 2011 to prepare the implementation of the GAST Office Bangkok and to discuss its future activities. In the meantime, an agreement has been drafted and approved and C&C International Venture Co. Ltd., an entity operating under the umbrella of Chula IPI, has stepped into the Task Force, to join the contractual agreement for setting up the GAST Office Thailand (this agreement was signed by CCIV, AIT and the GAST Speaker Prof. Jansen on Sept, 22, 2011, in Bangkok).

The GAST Office Thailand will focus mainly on Science & Technology (S&T) Matchmaking between German and ASEAN partners, on joint R&D project acquisition and management as well as on conducting networking conferences and professional (commercial) S&T course work for industry engineers and managers. It will also function as a bridge between the potential German and ASEAN partners with Prof. Jansen as the German-ASEAN Coordinator travelling frequently between Aachen and Bangkok.
